What is the Boys & Girls Club Licensed School Age Program?
The Licensed School Age Program in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Spokane County combines the traditional Boys & Girls Club experience with the added requirements and foundational quality standards of Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) WAC 110-301. Licensed Club daily programs are those seen in all clubs across Spokane County and provide:
A safe and positive place for youth to be during out of school break time.
Academic programs led by club staff to help kids be successful in school to progress through high school graduation and beyond.
Social emotional wellness led by specialized club staff to encourage positive social skills, emotional growth and social awareness with peers and adults.
Nutrition and physical activity that encourages healthy lifestyles and learning through play.
During care, children receive a healthy snack and participate in Power Hour for homework help and academic support. They also have access to social-emotional wellness staff. Additionally, children engage in physical activities and enjoy fun, enriching programs like STEM, art, and other creative projects that support learning and development.
How much does the Licensed School Age Program cost?
The cost of our Licensed School Age Program follows Washington State DCYF rates, which vary by location. Please refer to specific site materials for accurate pricing. Our licensed Boys & Girls Clubs accept Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) subsidies, but our non-licensed sites do not. You do not need to qualify for or receive WCCC subsidies to participate in the Licensed School Age Program with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Spokane County. All families are welcome, and scholarships are available to help reduce fees for those who do not qualify for WCCC.
When does licensed Childcare Operate?
Licensed childcare hours vary by location. After-school care generally runs until 6 PM, with some sites offering before-school care from 7 AM to start of school. Please refer to your site's materials for specific hours. Programs are unavailable on school closure days.
